【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthestrengthandappearanceofthespliceinvulcanizedrubber-sealmaterialofanysize,type,orcross-sectionalshape.1.2Manytypesandvarietiesofsealsareusedinservicesofalldegreesofseverity.Insomeinstances,hollowtubingissplicedandusedasaseal.Itisalsopossibletohavesealsofirregularcrosssections,ormadeofpolymerswhich,duetotheirnature,ornotconducivetoahigh-strengthsplice,althoughtheywillperformsatisfactorilyintheirintendedapplication.1.3Sealsareexposedinservicetoawidevarietyofmediaatvarioustemperatures.Theeffectofsuchmediaonthesplicedareamustbeconsidered.Detailsofthetestprocedurestoevaluatetheeffectofthemediashallbeagreeduponbythepurchaserandselleraspartofthepurchasecontract.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
